Camas, Washington Now Requires a Business License
This week, the City of Camas became one of the last municipalities in Washington State to adopt a business license by unanimously passing an ordinance creating a business license requirement. The ordinance amends Camas' municipal code to add requirements and processes for a local license. Businesses with an annual gross income of more than $2,000 will be required to obtain a license and pay a $10 fee to the city, while nonprofits and businesses earning less than $2,000 annually are exempt from the requirement. The license will go into effect January 1, 2020, allowing the State time to add Camas to their system.
Camas will be using the City Addendum application, which is part of the Washington State Business Licensing Service system. Camas will join dozens of participating cities that already use the state's system. Businesses in the city that hold a Washington State business license can apply for Camas' license when renewing their license at year's end.
