Hawaii Now Requires an Appraisal Management Company License  

Effective January 1, 2018, appraisal management companies doing business in Hawaii are required to obtain a state-issued Appraisal Management Company License from the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. Companies are required to submit a resident or non-resident application along with applicable fees and documentation to the Department. The license is valid for 2 years, with the first renewal deadline being on December 31, 2019. Companies that fail to obtain a license are subject to fines up to $1,000.
