Missouri Creates New License Requirements for 3PLs and Drug Outsourcers

The Missouri Board of Pharmacy now requires both resident and non-resident Third Party Logistic Providers (3PLs) and drug outsourcers to have a Missouri drug outsourcer or 3PL license. Prior to the changes, 3PLs and drug outsourcers were required to hold a Missouri Drug Distributor License. The license change is due to amendments to Chapter 338 of the Missouri Revised Statutes.
The Board requires 3PLs and drug outsourcing companies that currently hold a Drug Distributor License to convert their license to the appropriate category. Businesses that convert their license on or before March 1, 2019 will have the $300 application fee waived. Businesses engaged in both drug distribution and 3PL or drug outsourcing activities are required to hold both licenses. In addition, drug outsourcers must be registered with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration to be eligible for the new license.
