Nonresident TX Pharmacies Must Employ TX-Licensed PIC

Effective September 1, 2016, all non-resident pharmacies operating in Texas must employ a pharmacist-in-charge (PIC) who holds a license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

The Texas State Board of Pharmacy adopted legislation requiring PICs of non-resident Texas pharmacies to hold Texas Pharmacist Licenses beginning 9/1/2016. All new non-resident pharmacy applications and non-resident pharmacy renewal applications submitted after this date must include information documenting a Texas licensed pharmacist-in-charge in order to be approved.

Visit the Texas State Board of Pharmacy website for details and updates.
