Alaska Business Licenses

In addition to the many regulated professional industry licenses, Alaska requires every person or business to obtain a business license for the privilege of engaging in business in the State. Business licenses can be purchased for a one or two year period expiring in December. Renewal periods start around two months prior to the expiration date and the dates are important to note because late fees may apply. The expiration dates of the professional licenses vary depending on the industry. Businesses may also need to register with the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development.
